Roadshow 1

This morning students worked extremely productively to produce their greetings cards for the roadshow, which I then put in a PowerPoint to take. I also added photos from 3 girls' sketch books for Mr McPeake.

In the afternoon, half of use went to Bessemer Grange School to put on the first roadshow, which I thought went incredibly well. The pupils from years 1 and 3 I believe seemed to really enjoy the performances.

To improve next time, I think we definitely need more Art and Media work to show, as the performers need time to change. We could also have a bit more of an explanation to go with to allow the non-performers to have a bigger role in the roadshow. The slides also need to change more slowly to allow the audience more time to look at each image and read the text, especially for the little ones.

The performers were great I thought - good acting and impressive memory for the lines. The odd line was a little too quiet for me to hear at the back, and occasionally a line was forgotten, but I'm sure this will be remedied for next week.

Please could you all make sure your blogs are totally up to date and include any flexible days and trips such as the BFI. THIS IS ESSENTIAL!!

Taking Pics

Tues 1st Dec we only had one lesson, so we mainly took more wintery pictures and started to edit them in Photoshop to create greetings card designs.

Students were asked to bring in their own winter props for the pictures, but very few did. I made hot chocolate for you all to photograph if you wanted and then drink to get in the wintery mood.

I warned you all that we would need your designs for next Tues afternoon so that we can incorporate them in the primary school roadshow. I asked you to work on them at home and update your blogs.
